Faculty Positions in Hoffmann Institute of Advanced Materials at Shenzhen Polytechnic

The Hoffmann Institute of Advanced Materials (HIAM) at Shenzhen Polytechnic in Guangdong, China seeks outstanding candidates for full-time faculty positions (Associate Professor and above) in areas of advanced materials research and development, with a particular emphasis on clean, renewable, and new energy applications, both experimental and theoretical. Candidates should have demonstrated excellent accomplishment and exceptional promise in research. A doctoral degree from an internationally well-recognized university is required at the time of appointment. Salary and start-up package are highly competitive and will be commensurate with experience and qualifications.

About the Institute, Shenzhen Polytechnic and Shenzhen City: The Institute consists of three laboratories (each composed of multiple faculty members): a theoretical/computational laboratory, a materials development laboratory, and a device commercialization laboratory. Under the guidance of Nobel Laureate Roald Hoffmann, and led by materials scientists and chemists Jing Li and Chong Zheng, the Institute will focus on the research and development of novel functional materials, with an emphasis on their properties and applications in clean energy, new energy, and renewable energy fields. Key research areas include photo-electric, energy storage, and energy efficient materials; design and the creative interaction of theory and experiment will be a hallmark of the HIAM activities. The Institute will dedicate state-of-the-art resources to fundamental and applied research endeavors, as well as efforts to commercialize advanced materials and devices. Established in 1993, Shenzhen Polytechnic is a public institution funded by the municipal government of Shenzhen, a special economic zone in China. Shenzhen, a major city located in Southern China and situated immediately north of Hong Kong, is the high-tech and manufacturing hub of China. A picturesque coastal city, Shenzhen is also a popular tourist destination and was named one of the world's 31 must-see tourist destinations in 2010 by The New York Times.
